Behind the scenes: Visit by Vanbinnennaarbuiten - Royal Talens
Recently, Royal Talens welcomed a group from the Apeldoorn-based communication agency Vanbinnennaarbuiten for a guided tour of the company’s facilities, offering a closer look at both the production environment and the stories behind the products.

Insight into the production environment

From an elevated walkway, participants observed the production floor below, where materials and processes came together at scale. Rows of metal containers and equipment illustrated the precision and consistency required in manufacturing art materials, providing a clear view of how products are created from start to finish.

Observing and engaging during the tour

Throughout the tour, the group actively engaged with the environment. While overlooking different production areas, participants asked questions and discussed the processes they observed. This interaction created a dynamic exchange, connecting technical production steps with broader communication perspectives.

Connecting brand, product and storytelling

The visit also highlighted the connection between Royal Talens’ products and their creative purpose. Visual elements, including large-scale imagery and product displays, illustrated how materials are positioned and experienced by artists. This offered insight into how storytelling and branding support the use of creative materials.

Exploring products and heritage

Participants took a closer look at product displays and historical references within the building, gaining a better understanding of the company’s heritage and product development. These moments added context to what they had seen on the production floor.

A shared overview of the organisation

The tour concluded in a central open space, where a scale model of the site provided an overview of the different departments and facilities. This final step helped bring together all elements of the visit, from production to presentation.

The visit by Vanbinnennaarbuiten created an opportunity to exchange perspectives between a communication-focused organisation and a producer of creative materials, underlining the importance of clarity, transparency and storytelling in a complex production environment.
