Art Supplies bring healing and joy to children's hospital in Kenya - Royal Talens

The Royal Talens Foundation is proud to support Aisha & Friends in their meaningful work at the Kilifi County Referral Hospital's children's ward in Kenya. In October 2024, art supplies donated by the foundation brought creativity and joy to over 30 young patients and hospital staff.

Play Therapy training

Aisha & Friends, an organization that develops educational materials and training with local partners in Kenya and Tanzania, collaborated with hospital staff to create a more child-friendly environment in the pediatric ward. A key focus of their partnership is developing Play Therapy training for hospital staff to enhance social and emotional support for young patients.

"Thank you very much again for the beautiful materials which we can use in our work with sick children!" shared a grateful staff member from the hospital's playroom.

Art materials serve as therapeutic purposes

The donated art materials serve multiple therapeutic purposes: helping prepare children for medical procedures, providing positive distraction during hospital stays, and creating opportunities for children to express and discuss their emotions. Social workers in the hospital's playroom now have quality creative resources to support their important work with pediatric patients.

Building life skills and resilience

Aisha & Friends focuses on building life skills and resilience in children through their various programs. Their collaboration with the hospital team demonstrates how creative expression can play a vital role in pediatric healthcare environments.

Through partnerships like this, the Royal Talens Foundation continues its mission of empowering creativity for everyone, including those in challenging circumstances.
