Want to dress up your picnics and dinner parties this summer? Try making these fun, colourful fruit coasters!
In this step-by-step plan, we’re showing you how to make these cute fruity coasters! Upcycle your old boring coasters into colourful new ones! Lemons, kiwis, apples… the options are endless. Pick your own favourite fruits and get creative!
Start with a clean surface.
Sand the old coasters using sandpaper and clean them to make the dust and grease free.
Start painting!
Apply a layer of white Indoor & Outdoor paint.
Decide on your colours.
You can choose to paint every coaster a different colour or to make them all the same.
I choose to make them all different. Let them dry for 30 minutes.
Mix your colours.
You can mix the bright colours with white to create different tones.
Draw the outlines of the patterns you want to use on your coaster.
I choose to recreate the fruits kiwi, orange, lemon and star fruit as my designs, but you can pick any design you like.
Add details.
I used a darker colour to paint the patterns.
That completes your coasters.
Let everything dry for 24 hours and enjoy your new coasters! Combine this DIY with the melon tray and have a wonderful picnic this summer!
