DIY festive wooden plate - Royal Talens

What you need

  • Talens Art Creation Indoor & Outdoor decoration set
  • Pencil
  • Small brush
  • Painting knife
  • Piece of wood or tree disk

Step 1

Shake the paint and apply it to the wood using a brush or the sponge sticks that are included in the set. Let the paint dry for 30 minutes.

Step 2

Sketch out your message on the wood using a graphite pencil. We decided to go for “happy holidays”. Take a small brush and use a contrasting colour to create your text. Let it dry for 30 minutes.

Step 3

Now you can take the snowflake stencil included in the set, your painting knife and the glitter paste. Use the painting knife to add the glitter paste to the stencil on top of the wood. This will give you a 3D effect because you can create thicker layers. Experiment with the placement and size of your snowflakes to create a dynamic pattern. Let the paste dry for 30 minutes (or longer, depending on the thickness of the layer).

Step 4

Use the Effect Liner to add little decorative pearls or other accents to your designs and let it dry completely.

Step 5

Take the metallic paint from the set and add a shadow to the text to give it more depth and add a little shine! Let the paint dry as well.

Your new custom holiday sign

This completes your new custom holiday sign! Place it against a wall or other decorations to achieve those cosy holiday vibes or add a rope or ribbon to the back of the wood. Now you can hang it on the front door or a wall!

We hope you enjoyed this tutorial and try it out for yourself. If you do, don’t forget to share it using #RoyalTalens!
