Drawing a manga character

Overview of the steps

1. 00:06 Take an HB graphite pencil and start with rough shapes to define the composition of your drawing. Use light lines to create the right proportions. From the rough sketch, keep adding more details to shape the character.
2. 06:56 Use the Pigma Micron to trace over the lines of your design and add more detail. Alternate thin and thick lines for more depth and dynamism.
3. 13:36 Erase all pencil lines.
4. 13:46 Use your pencil to indicate the rough lines of the highlights in the hair.
5. 14:10 Take the Koi Brush Pen and apply the colour. Leave enough white space to be able to blend the colour properly later.
6. 18:16 Erase all remaining pencil lines.
7. 18:26 Take a wet cotton swab or brush and use it to create a watercolour effect. This will give your work more depth.
8. 20:46 Let the drawing dry thoroughly before taking the Gelly Roll White. Use this to apply the final highlights.
