Upcycle textile into a scarf or headband

Stylish and sustainable, what more do you need? In this step-by-step plan we’re showing you how to upcycle old fabrics into a beautiful scarf or headband. This easy DIY fashion craft can turn that old t-shirt or unused piece of curtain into the accessory you need in your summer wardrobe. And with all the different color options, you can make sure it suits your style perfectly. So get creative and have fun!

  • Use textile made of at least 50% cotton
  • Wash the textile without fabric softener if it’s new

Take an old t-shirt and cut off the bottom in which ever size suits you.

Paint it with dots in different textile colors using sponge sticks. Let it dry for 30 minutes. Fixate for 5 minutes using an iron.

Take a white scarf and a texture paint roller.

Cover the table with plastic and lay down the scarf. Choose 2 colours of paint and the pattern roller you want.

Apply the paint onto the scarf using a pattern roller. Let it dry for 30 minutes. Fixate for 5 minutes using an iron.
