Legislation for toys
This legislation sets out the requirements the products have to meet if they are intended for use in play by children under the age of 14. The following symbols are related to this:
This compulsory symbol This compulsory symbol (a so-called CE Marking) indicates that the product meets the health and safety requirements as set down in the European Directive.
This symbol is used on products that despite meeting the health and safety requirements may still be hazardous to very young children. The nature of the danger is also indicated (for example the danger of swallowing small parts). The text "Not suitable for children under 3 years of age" can also replace this symbol.
