Our Story

Cobra signalled a complete breakthrough in modern art that continues to influence different art styles and forms to this day. We want to carry on this token of revolution and change by stirring up the art world once more with our line of water-mixable oil paint. Cobra oil paints are professional oil colours with the same viscosity and high-quality pigments you know and love from traditional oil paints, but without having to use harmful solvents. The paints can be mixed and cleaned with water so your workspace can now be free of harsh-smelling turpentine or white spirit. The name CoBrA

The name CoBrA

Cobra oil colour is named after the revolutionary post-war art movement CoBrA, which was founded in 1948.

They named this movement after the cities from which the writers and artists came: Copenhagen, Brussels and Amsterdam. Their goal was to break pre-war rules and change painting by going back to basics: painting intuitively like a child, colourful, without rules and with freedom! They were innovative and reinvented art.

Cobra oil paint is named after this revolutionary art movement as Cobra oil colours are also innovative and reinventing the art of oil painting, because you don’t need solvents. Cobra oil paint is colourful and gives you the freedom to paint anywhere.
