Rinske Douna
Rinske Douna is an internationally known ‘fluid artist’ from the Netherlands who is mostly famous for her ‘Dutch pours’, a unique acrylic painting technique that she developed herself.
About Rinske Douna
Rinske was born in 1987 in Hoorn, the Netherlands. After completing her primary and secondary education, she went on to study communication sciences at the University of Utrecht. She soon learned that she had a more practical and creative manner of doing things and started her own business in 2012. After a couple of years, she realised she still was not able to fully express her creativity and after meeting with Nitra Art, a famous Belgian artist in 2015, painting became her new passion. Now she has a studio in the centre of The Hague where she hosts workshops, welcomes art collectors, makes her YouTube videos and of course creates her new, colourful artworks.
Empowering creativity
Rinske Douna is an internationally known abstract ‘fluid artist’ who is mostly known for her so-called ‘Dutch pours’, a unique acrylic painting technique that she developed herself. Because she lives close to the sea, many of her works are inspired by the ocean, with vibrant, bright colours, movement and shiny finishes. She mostly uses acrylic colours and water to create her fluid pieces. Rinske’s work is very recognisable due to her use of negative space, explosions of colour and unique composition of the works.
